Turkey Hunting

Dave got his 1st turkey this morning. Jackson was VERY excited, but was upset that he couldn't "eat its meat" right now! Kinsey was interested in checking it out, but her face in the picture pretty much says it all, "what is this thing?"

The Colors of Spring

Car Wash

Spring has finally arrived . . . we have had weather in the 70's for a couple days and have been enjoying every minute. David has been gone the last couple mornings turkey hunting, so today I decided the kids and I were going to wash and clean out the van. Jackson was all over it! He didn't want me to help him at all, of course I had to, but he was reluctant about it. And of course, he thought it was pretty fun to spray me : )

Hunting Buddy

Jackson got to go listen for turkeys with Daddy on Friday night. He was pretty excited to go and they did actually hear some. Here they both are in their hunting clothes.

Fishin' with Papa

My dad took Monday off and took Jackson and Claire fishing at a neighbor's pond. They caught a small catfish and "Papa" even fried it up for them to eat it at lunch. Jackson wouldn't try it, but Claire gobbled it up! It was pretty rainy and cold, so we kept the littler two at home to play.

Easter 2009

Easter at Home

We did Easter baskets on Saturday night since we were going to have to be up VERY early and Sunday morning and would be heading to TH as soon as church was over.

EGGstravaganza

Just wanted to share a few pictures from the annual Easter egg hunt at our church. Both the kids could really participate this year. Kinsey is very into collecting things and putting them in containers, so this was right up her alley. She had a whole bucket full of goodies, as well as Jackson. Also, there are pictures of them with their friends, Nathan and Eli Mann.

Say "CHEESE"!

So based on this video from tonight, do you think we might take Kinsey's picture a little too much? This is what she did as soon as she saw the camera . . . I never could get her to say "egg" again, which is what I was really trying to capture! Oh well, still VERY cute : )

Coloring Easter Eggs

Easter Eggs

We finally had a night that we could color Easter eggs. Jackson was VERY excited . . . he had been waiting to color eggs since we got out our Easter decorations back in March. Dave helped him with the first couple of eggs, but then he of course wanted to do it all by himself. Kinsey wanted to help by "tasting" the eggs (before we dyed them). We tried to get a picture of them both with their baskets, but couldn't ever get them both to smile and look at the same time . . . oh well, they both look like they are having fun stealing each other's eggs! We have a busy end to our week with Easter activities . . . Passover Sedar on Thursday, Good Friday Service on Friday, and Eggstravaganza on Saturday.

Gone Fishin'

We went to Camp Illiana this weekend for a Junior High Retreat where Dave lead the music. Of course, that always means that we get to catch up with Matt and Renee Willis and other friends from LCC.
Jackson and Addie hit it off . . . they were pretty much inseparable and didn't want to leave each other tonight! They each said that waiting until summer was just too long not to see each other again. This afternoon, Dave took Jackson fishing with his own pole for the first time. He didn't catch anything, but he still had a lot of fun. And he always saved a spot for Addie to fish next to him : )

April Fools at Studio 50

Happy April Fools Day and Happy 40th Anniversary to my in-laws!!

We spent the morning at Studio 50 . . . it is a gymnastics studio with lots of mats, trampolines and a big foam pit you can jump in. It was a fun MOPS play date.
Here are a few pictures that my friend Katie took . . . somehow I forgot my camera, very unusual for me. But thankfully she brought hers!

Meeting Fredbird

Our church had a Relay for Life dinner tonight and they had a special visit from Fredbird. We told Jackson right before we left that we were going to see him and he of course wanted to bring every Cardinal's thing he could hold on to. So he took his Build-A-Fredbird and his bat. As soon as we got to the church, Fredbird spotted us in line and ran over and stole the little Fredbird out of his hands and ran away with it. Jackson wasn't sure what to think, so we told him to go after him that he was just playing around. So he ran after him . . . gave him hugs and lots of high-5s. He really enjoyed watching Fredbird walk through the people and do all kinds of little antics. Kinsey on the other hand loved waving to him when he was FAR away, but as soon as he was looking at her or got anywhere close she would just SCREAM!! She did start to warm up a little bit before he left, but still would cry a little. It was a great surprise for Jackson . . . now he says he is ready to go to a Cardinal's game tonight!!
Only 10 days until Opening Day : )

Catching up . . .

The weather the end of last week and over the weekend was wonderful!! We enjoyed getting outside again and playing. We took several walks and rides in the wagon.
This morning we went over to some friends in our small group to have him look at Dave's truck and to see their horses. Jackson was really excited to go see the horses . . . of course, he informed us several times before getting there that "you don't just look at horses, you ride them!" They were both excited to see the ones in the pasture, but when it got time to take a ride, they neither one were sure. Once I got on Dixie, Jackson decided he did want to ride, he hopped on with me and then he rode with Daddy some more when we got back.
Kinsey never did warm up to it. Unfortunately, she has not been her self much of last week with teething. She hasn't been sleeping well at all and not eating much for a few days last week. But she was more herself yesterday and today, but still not quite 100%. So unfortunately, I think that played into her mood with the horses. It was quite a bit cooler this morning, so they told us we would have to come back and ride more when it is warmer outside.
