Where A Kid Can Be A Kid . . .

Since Kayleigh arrived just over 5 weeks ago, we haven't really ventured outside of our normal routine or done any traveling. But cabin-fever was starting to set in for everyone in our house; we needed to take a trip! Jackson didn't have preschool on Friday, so we took the opportunity to do some shopping and have a fun family day. The kids had no idea where we were going and we just told them we were taking them on a surprise. They had a great time at Chuck E Cheese and playing at the awesome PBS play area at The Mills. Kayleigh, on the other hand, was not so impressed as you can see . . . lol : ) And who says Chuck E Cheese is just for the kids . . . . Dave had fun too!!!!

Kayleigh Faith - 5 Weeks

Kayleigh was 5 weeks on Thursday! She is getting more expressive each day . . . she is really working at the "real" smiles. You can see her eyes light up and her mouth try. There have been a couple times that we will ask each other, "was that a smile?" She did coo at Dave last Saturday. She has been doing great sleeping this past week . . . sleeping until at least 6:30 and even until 7:30/8 am several nights. WOO-HOO!!!

Kayleigh Faith - 4 Weeks

Kayleigh Faith is 4 weeks old today! It is so hard to believe that 4 weeks has gone by since she was born . . . it goes by SO fast! Kayleigh continues to be the center of your brother and sister's attention. They can hardly leave her alone if she is awake . . . and they are always disappointed when she has to lay down for another nap. Jackson especially asks me often, "when is Kayleigh going to wake up?" I am trying to enjoy how excited they are to see her, kiss her, and hold her, as I know that it won't last forever!

Basketball Game #2

Jackson had his second basketball game this morning. He was really into the defense today! He was once again really into it for the first half and then was very distracted the second half. Kinsey kept busy cheering on the boys, checking on baby Kayleigh and putting on makeup with Grammy.

Kayleigh's Baby Dedication

We had a parent/child dedication at church this morning. Along with 5 other couples, we dedicated ourselves to each other and to raising our children in the Lord. A wonderful service, as the parent/child dedication was just a piece of the whole service, talking about life and how precious it is to God. My parents were here as well as my grandparents (Jim and Wanda Jackson). Here are a few pictures from our morning.

Jackson's 1st Basketball Game

Jackson had his first church league basketball game this morning. He was VERY excited . . . saying he was going to make "3 scores" (or baskets). He made one basket when they were warming up, but was disappointed after the game that he didn't make 3! He did great the 1st half, but was pretty warn out and kind of lost interest the second half. Jackson told me on the way home, "Mommy, why were all those people there? I didn't know them! I only wanted daddy and my friends to be there like at practice." Obviously, he had no idea what to expect at a game! We'll see how things go next week!

Kayleigh Faith - 2 Weeks

We took Kayleigh to the health department for a 2 week appointment. She was 9 lbs, 2 oz and measured 21 inches. Kayleigh has been getting lots of love from Big Brother Jackson and Big Sister Kinsey. Jackson told us this past week after kissing all over Kayleigh, "she is really going to grow now, I gave her lots of love!" And he didn't want to go to preschool again on Tuesday morning because he wanted to stay with Kayleigh. He asked, "Daddy, can we keep her?", "Yes, Jackson, she's ours forever." He still hasn't quite grasped the idea that she isn't ever leaving. Kinsey, on the other hand, just wants to kiss all over her and any time she cries says, "baby need her bink!" Kayleigh is nursing well and has only been getting up one time in the night to eat. So all in all a pretty good baby.

Jackson started church league basketball practice on Thursdays last week and has his first game on Saturday. He is really excited . . . he made 1 basket at the first practice and 2 at the second one. We will also be dedicating Kayleigh at our church's baby dedication this Sunday morning. So we will have more pictures to post very soon!!!
