Is she really saying MOM?

What do you think?

Marion County Fair

The Marion County Fairgrounds are just down the road from us.  And today was "Kid's Day", so everything was free and there were some more hands on activities for the kids.  So the kids and I, along with some friends (Craig, Cheryl & Kiley) went to the fair!  Jackson got to collect fake eggs from a chicken coup, pick apples off a tree, and milk a goat & cow (fake as well).  We also got to sit on some antique tractors and took a walk through the animal show barns.  So he got to pet cows, pigs, goats, sheep & horses.  Definitely something that we will do again next year, when both of the kids can walk around and experience everything.

Scovill Zoo

The kids and I are in TH this week while David is at camp.  This morning, we met my Dad in Decatur at Scovill Zoo.  (FYI: It is free on Wed.)  It is the perfect size for little ones and even has a train and carousel.  Both the kids enjoyed the petting zoo part with goats, chickens and cows.  Jackson wasn't so sure about the goats jumping up on him while he was trying to feed them with Papa.  Kinsey liked petting the goats too.  No surprise, Jackson's favorite was the train : ) We had a great time and couldn't have asked for better weather.

Cardinal's Game

We all went to the Cardinal's game with my parents on Saturday (7/19).  It was Christian Family Day, so not only did we get to see the Cardinals beat the Padres, we also got to enjoy a Casting Crowns concert and hear testimony from a few of the players.  It was VERY HOT, but a lot of fun!  Jackson was especially excited about going to the game.  I accidently told him that we were going on Monday and everyday when he woke up, he would ask me if it was time to go to the game.  He liked seeing all the players and especially watching Fredbird.  He was VERY excited about his Fredbird bat and ball.

Kinsey's 1st Cardinals Game

Kinsey got to go to her first Cardinal's baseball game on Saturday (7/19).  For Jackson's first game, we went to the Build-A-Bear Workshop at Busch Stadium and built a Fredbird.  So for Kinsey's first game, she got to build a pink Cardinal's bear.  So here she is with her adorable bear!

Jackson's Week

Jackson has loved going to Summer Spectacular (VBS) this week. It was "God's Big Backyard" and they learned about serving others. He talks about the squirrel and dog puppets and how they will throw candy. And can retell me the lesson every night . . . Miss Connie has been doing a great job! It has been fun helping out and watching him worship and interact with the other kids.

Kinsey's Week

Kinsey has been busy this week learning all kinds of new things . . . .

On Monday I went in to get Kinsey up and she was standing up smiling at me over the side of her crib. I was so excited that I ran out to the living room to get the camera to take a picture. By the time I got back, she thought I had forgotten about her and was crying! So the picture didn't turn out as cute as that first moment, but oh well.

Then on Tuesday, she got to feed herself puffs for the first time. She actually did really well with them. On Wednesday, she waved "hi" and signed "more" (or at least a version of it). See video . . . .

And on Thursday, she actually crawled on her hands and knees a few steps and then back to the belly army crawl. And she pulled up on David's legs to standing. We also went to the library for the last week of their reading program and then to the park before lunch.

Kinsey Grace-8 Months

It is, once again, hard to believe that another month has passed. These "faces of Kinsey" pictures were actually taken on Friday. I tried to get a picture of her today and it was a lost cause. Her first tooth broke through yesterday, but seems to be bothering her more today. Poor baby only slept about an hour nap all day! So needless to say, an 8 month picture was out of the question .

Water Slide

We went to a cookout on Saturday at some friends from the church. They had an inflatable water slide that Jackson LOVED!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy Fourth of July!

We celebrated in TH . . . parade, cookout, homemade icecream, "swimming" in the hot tub (too cold for the pool), and fireworks & popcorn.
