Today's Headlines: Kayleigh cut her 1st tooth!
Our 3 month old cut her 1st tooth! WHAT!? Dave said he could feel a knot on Kayleigh's gums about 2 weeks ago and I thought he was crazy. But then I felt it and I discovered he wasn't. However, I thought maybe it would take her a month or two to actually have it break through, especially since she is SO young! But NO, this morning after I fed her, I discovered a little white tooth peeking out! I can't quite get her to open her mouth for a picture, but I thought this picture of shock would have to do : ) Hope this doesn't mean she will have a mouthful before I'm finished nursing her!! YIKES!

This week at the Jarrett House . . .
This week Kayleigh is 14 weeks. I took the girls to the health department for appointments this morning. Kinsey, at almost 30 months, is 29 lbs and 37 inches tall. Kayleigh is 12 lbs, 8 oz and 23 3/4 inches.
Jackson had his last "real" day of Sonshine School on Tuesday. Next week is graduation practice (all the kids graduate even if they come back next year) and then a free game of bowling at the bowling alley here in town. He has really loved going and has learned so much! I will have to post a picture he colored at the beginning of the year (August 09) and then last week. What a difference!!

A Day at the Zoo
We LOVE the ZOO!! So when we had made plans to go today and the weather forecast wasn't cooperating we were all disappointed.
We decided to still go shopping since we had planned to take a trip anyway. But when we on the way and there still wasn't any rain, we made the decision to go ahead and go to the zoo! And are we glad that we did . . . only a few sprinkles to start the day, but then it was beautiful!
Some of our favorites were watching the penguins swim really fast and jump out of the water, getting to see all the big cats, the hippos out of the water eating from the tree and of course, the zoo train.
I asked the kids what their favorite part was when we got home tonight . . . Jackson said, "I liked ALL the animals!!!" and Kinsey said, "Mommy, we go back to the zoo tomorrow, right?" So needless to say, we all had a GREAT time!

Kayleigh Faith - 3 Months
Kayleigh is officially 3 months old today!! She is growing like crazy and doing new things all the time. She can definitely see and focus on objects further away. She can grasp toys and has grown fond of sucking on her index finger and thumb together on her left hand. Hopefully she doesn't give up the pacifier all together!! She is much more wiggly these days too . . . we have to strap her in to pretty much everything now! She also LOVES to be talked to and will often try to "talk" back to you.
Monday morning, Dave shot his 2nd turkey ever. He was very excited to show the kids and they were very interested in seeing it. Later that morning, I could hear Jackson in the backyard "pretend playing" and shooting his stuffed animals with his water gun!! Nice : )
Here are Kinsey and Jackson enjoying their recent past times. Kinsey, as I have mentioned before, LOVES to swing!!! We sing songs while she swings . . . I love hearing her little voice sing her new favorite, "Mighty to Save," SO precious! Jackson got a new bike helmet fitted to him at preschool on Tuesday. So guess what he has wanted to do since he walked in the door Tuesday morning? They talked about helmet safety and watched a video. So he was very emphatic to tell me all the rules about activities that you should wear a helmet for!! I wish he was always that good about following the rules!

Spring is Here!!
Let's Swing!
Our kids LOVE to swing, this spring more than any other. Jackson has learned to swing all by himself within the last month. He was really close last fall, but couldn't start on his own. So he really enjoys swinging and seeing how high he can go on his own. Kinsey wants to do nothing else but swing when we play outside. She always asks to go "higher" and for a "super dog" (aka underdog). Kayleigh loves her baby papasan swing, so we thought we would take her outside to see how she liked the Like Tikes baby swing outside tonight. I love how the simple things in life bring them such joy!

Kayleigh Faith - 11 weeks and More!
Kayleigh was 11 weeks on Thursday. She is changing all the time and growing WAY too fast! Jackson and Kinsey still LOVE her SO much!! In fact, on Wednesday night, we heard thunder at the dinner table and Jackson ran over to Kayleigh and said, "Don't worry, I'll protect you. The storm is outside and we are on the inside. It's ok, I'm your big brother!" Kinsey still insists on kissing all over Kayleigh, and regularly right on the lips ! So as a result, Kayleigh started getting a bit of a cold right before Easter. I am trying to enjoy all the love they are giving her right now, because I know they won't always be so sweet to her!
This afternoon, we got a new fire pit and of course, had to try it out tonight. It was a beautiful day, so we played outside, grilled out supper, ate outside and roasted marshmallows over the fire pit. It was a perfect evening that ended by putting the kids directly in the bath tub!!

Kinsey Singing
Here is Kinsey singing one of her favorite songs from Miss Patty Cake's Eggstravaganza DVD.
There was a shake and a rattle
And the stone was rolled away
On that Mighty Resurrection Day!
