My dad and Dave have been redoing my dad's fishing boat and have been anxious to take it out! And so has Jackson!!!! Today was the day!!! The first thing Jackson said this morning, "Papa, it is light outside, so WHEN are we going fishing?" And then as soon as they put the boat in at Forbes, he asked, "So can we fish NOW?" He was all about playing with the minnows and bating his own hook this year. Papa caught a crappie this morning and Jackson was excited to show us when we got out there at lunchtime. We met up for lunch at the Marina Restaurant (The Leaky Bucket). Afterwards, Kinsey really wanted to ride on the boat, so we let her sit for a minute before we headed back home. 
In the afternoon, Jackson did catch a fish all by himself (see middle picture above). However, this evening when it was time for Dave to fillet the fish, Jackson was nearly in tears that his daddy was going to kill them. Somehow he hasn't quite made the connection that they are going to die and get eaten. He completely understands when it comes to hunting deer and turkeys, but putting the fish in the live well to keep it alive after you catch it has confused him. I'm afraid he thought he had a new pet, not a meal : )
